This place is one of my favorite finds so far and I found it quite by accident one day while getting acquainted with the area. My cousin was with me this day and we were both ready for a late lunch, in fact we almost stopped at a chain restaurant when all of a sudden we spotted this restaurant. This drive in restaurant has been a Sarasota institution since the 1950’s. They used to serve their burgers on roller skates out to the cars! Now it is an open air restaurant.
We quickly turned in and the place was packed we had to park over behind the car wash. We grabbed a seat at the counter as all of the tables were full. We were promptly waited on and received our icy cold beverages. They also have beer and wine available. After asking our waitress a few questions I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and fries. My cousin had the Hob Nob Burger and fries. OMG they were amazing and I am not the type of person who makes a hamburger place 30 miles away a regular destination. Hob Nob Drive In is the exception to that. I have been back at least 6 times since finding this place in March just to go there.
Here is the reason why and yes none of my pictures prior to this one so I made an excuse to go back again just for pictures last week, any excuse will do. LOL. I also have discovered they make some pretty good Onion Rings too.
My friend I took with me tried their Chef Salad and said it was very tasty, it certainly looks fresh.
If you are in Sarasota or just feel like a road trip and are ready to blow your diet stop on by. The service is fast and the food is great!
